Setting the Standard: PRC-024-2 & LVRT requirements – Differentiation between Internal and External faults in Wind and Solar Farms

This technical article introduces the concept of a grounding breaker used as a mean to differentiate internal and external faults in wind and solar power plants, in order to allow the generation units to stop during an internal fault in a fraction of the time required by the grid code regarding to low voltage ride-through.
